Confession time – I am a dabbler, when it comes to designing and making I’m keen to roll my sleeves up and get stuck in. You literally the case with felt making! A combination of fleece, water, soap and friction creates a textile that can be gossamer thin to blanket thick, from softly pliable to robustly solid. Plus there’s the potential to use parts of fleece that aren’t suited to spinning yarn and to incorporate loom waste from my weaving. My current interest and experimentation lie in creating form using felt.
